#226; In which Blood is in the Air

It's been a while since I've written a new Comic Strip Doctor column, and I might as well tell you why. I used to work in an office where the newspaper was sitting in the lunchroom every day, and I would read the comics page and become infuriated at some ridiculous thing or other and be driven into a mad typing frenzy. Well, I don't work there anymore (for mostly unrelated reasons), and so I don't read the paper every day anymore, and the comics that I take the time to read nowadays are typically the ones that I actually like. I don't go searching out Momma or Crock out of some masochistic urge to remind myself how much I would like to slit my own wrists. Without a daily, newsprinted reminder, it's rare that I'm driven to that apoplectic place where words come easy.

I don't like trawling through online archives looking for a particularly awful example of, say, Cathy that I can make fun of, just because I feel obligated to write a column. It's not really fair to anyone. I do plan to write more columns soon -- I had very much hoped that I would have them done by now, but life goes on. Thank you for your understanding and support.
